• Optimize patient/model head position, microscope tilt and gonio-lens position to obtain a clear nasal angle view.
• Create an appropriate temporal clear-corneal incision and maintain a stable anterior chamber with OVD.
• Advance the iStent injector across the anterior chamber without contacting the corneal endothelium, iris or crystalline
lens/IOL.
• Approach the trabecular meshwork at a controlled angle and deploy the implant according to the device-specific
technique.
• Recognize satisfactory implant position and stability under gonioscopy.
• Recognize common causes of poor visualization, incorrect implantation depth and failed deployment.
• Demonstrate safe withdrawal of the injector and completion of the case, including OVD removal.
